These pieced fabric panels (not really quilts), lit from behind, glowed so beautifully at the recent Lusio Lights event at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory.

This is some kind of black-stemmed maidenhair fern, seen in the woods in the Olympic Peninsula. I haven’t seen this kind of radial pattern before.

I happened upon a wonderful community event this evening, the Burien Arts-A-Glow Lantern Festival, and was enchanted at the various light sculpture installations in the little park. This one had three groups of lit-up pillars a few inches wide and maybe 10 or 12 feet tall. Loved it.
