Tree shadows in the park

Last year’s visit to the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens was a lovely spring day just about this time of year.

Arboretum pond

The pond at Seattle’s Arboretum, at the end of May. As far as I am concerned, you can’t get much more scenic than this.

Color or sepia image?

In general, I am a fan of the most natural look possible of the natural world. I like photos because they capture a beautiful sight that I’d like to revisit. But sometimes, the lure of “art” beckons. I’d like your opinion. Which of the two images below appeals the most? Which would you like hanging on your wall? Thank you for your input.

Let’s take a walk

We went to Seattle’s Arboretum yesterday for a lovely stroll. Don’t you just love the way a path beckons?

Side note: You can find some of our botanical image Glass Tile Jewelry in the gift shop at the visitor center there, and of course some copies of the “Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory” book, too.

Arboretum path

Just a week or so ago, before the rain came, this stretch of Seattle’s Arboretum was glorious in the sunshine. Shall we take a stroll to that tiny bench in the distance?

You might visit Scenic Sunday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Shadow Shot Sunday 2, and Outdoor Wednesday. If you see only one photo is below, please click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above to see the others. Thanks for visiting!

Fuchsia basket

At Seattle’s Arboretum not too long ago, I spotted this large, unusually shaped, terra cotta hanging “basket” with fuchsia blooms. They do hanging plants so well—see my post with red petunias from the same visit.

You might also visit Today’s Flowers, Floral Friday, Flower Art Friday, Weekend Flowers, SOOC Sunday, Pink Saturday, Ruby Tuesday 2, Scenic Sunday, Shadow Shot Sunday 2 and Outdoor Wednesday. As always, if there is only the one, lonely photo below, clicking on the curly letters of Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above will bring up the other recent photos for your enjoyment.

Red petunias in hanging basket

A quick visit to the Visitor Center at the Arboretum in Seattle (they are now carrying my book, Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory, and might carry our new glass tile jewelry as well), and of course I need to see what’s pretty to photograph. Here’s one of a group of lovely hanging baskets outside the Visitor Center.

I’m participating at Today’s Flowers, Floral Friday, Flower Art Friday, Weekend Flowers, Outdoor Wednesday, and Ruby Tuesday 2. Please click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog if you see only this one photo below. There are so many others to see here! The photo post directly below is particularly wonderful, if I do say so myself. Thanks for stopping by.
