The moon in the trees

Autumn at night is beautiful, too. Can you see the dark side of the moon, softly glowing?

Fall colors, at night.

Eclipse crescents

Here is the pattern of pinhole crescents projected on my house at the peak of this morning’s eclipse, courtesy of our large cedar tree. Where I live the sun was about 92% covered by the moon.

Tiny spaces between leaves and branches of a tree make a giant multi-pinhole camera for today’s eclipse

Crescent moon at sunset

A sliver of a moon over Puget Sound is always lovely to contemplate. Happy Skywatch to all! For those kind people who left comments for me on my guest posting on the main site and also here last week, I’ll be by to visit soon. Thank you so much to all who took the time to say a few words to me.
