Milk glass

In Seattle on a sunny afternoon at this time of year the shadows reach far into the house.

Jack-o’-lantern

Okay, a day late. But I love the cheeriness of its smile. May all the spooky times be over with!

Fallen rose petal

Sometimes just one rose petal is enough to tell the story. Autumn is here.

A single rose petal falls on the table.

Drying hydrangeas

This is the perfect time to see if any of your hydrangeas are ripe for drying. The petals need to be crepe-y,  sort of wrinkled, but still have good color. I put them in an inch of water, at the most. When the water evaporates in a few days, the flowers should still look wonderful. Voila!

Two bouquets

Another rose photo of the flowers I had to pick before the big rains here in Seattle. A lot of rain ruins roses.

Polka dot table cloth

I got a new polka dot oilcloth tablecloth. It works with my houseplants, so I am happy. My chair on the left, near my pile of newspapers.

Trailer interior with red

Happy Valentine’s Day! Here is something you don’t see every day. This little trailer and its interior was on display at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show and was shown by Sisters on the Fly, back in the vintage area. You could die from this much cute.
