Longwood Gardens pool

I was told that they are getting ready to plant water lilies in the six inches or so of water on this space in the incomparable Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia.

Roof plants in San Miguel

Many of the roofs in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico have plants in pots at the roof’s edge over the street. I do wonder about earthquakes, if not high winds.

Blue house with rhodies

A week or two ago, driving around Burien, WA, I saw this house. Color to the max.

Pagoda at Pt. Defiance Park

There’s a lovely Japanese garden at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA. In the pond is a brilliantly red (miniature) pagoda.

Lavatera flower

In a West Seattle friend’s backyard, macro of a flower of a lavatera shrub. What showy, crinkled, ruffled flowers, each one as big as a small apple, and so joyful!

Gazebo

Our recent visit to Anacortes, WA to go crabbing with friends was topped off by a lovely late-day stroll from the Cap Sante marina to a nearby gazebo. There’s no way it shows up at this resolution, but there’s actually a line of birds flying low in the sky near the gazebo. I love the light at this time of day. It’s brief, but everything looks like it is dipped in gold.

Visit Scenic Sunday for other scenic shots. And you might try the “scenic” tag while you are here, first. If you’ve arrived from a link or search engine, be sure to click on Sara’s Fave Photos above for the latest post.

I like this photo very, very much. I might frame it. Anyway, I’ve tagged it Best Post of the Week.

Scenic flowers

This was taken on a HOT day this week at Pike Place Market, world-famous tourist mecca that rightly deserves a must-see if in Seattle. I love the way they have flowers on that roof. Note that the building on the right is not Pike Market proper, but the flowers roof the entrance to the actual market.

Visit Flowers for Today (their One Year Anniversary is next week, and I am honored to be posting as Guest Friend on that special day!) for more fabulous flowers, and Scenic Sunday for more scenic wonders.
