Campanula ground cover

I love this plant, Campanula portenschlagiana or Wall Bellflower. It grows very well in my north facing entryway, under an overhang, so does fine in dry shade. The starry flowers and leaves are less than in inch across.

Summer cherry tomatoes

It’s gray and rainy in Seattle this week, with more darkness on the way. Let’s think about summer sunshine and tomatoes, just for a bit, shall we?

Daytime Christmas tree

Our Christmas Eve day tree. I like how it looks in the daytime almost as much as the nighttime.

Star light art

This lovely neon star art was even prettier reflected in the glass panes within the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle at the recent Lusio Lights event. Don’t you love the huge staghorn fern it’s nestled up against?

Rainy night Christmas lights

The neighbor who goes all out with holiday decorations added some more this year. (The post below, from a few years ago, was taken from closer up.)

Hoya carnosa

My hoya plant loves the heat this year, and has TWO flowers. Isn’t this one pretty?

Vanda orchid

At the last day before the recent temporary closure to complete the restoration at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory (reopening Dec. 6!), these purple vanda orchids did their amazing thing.
