I do post a lot of photos about Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory, but here is a view that few are lucky enough to see. This glass structure is one of the support production greenhouses, seen on a sunny, early-fall afternoon last week. Volunteering has its perks!

This was taken in the Portland Japanese Garden in May, not now in January, but I thought we could use some spring and sunshine today. Here is Seattle in the real world, all is gray. For more fascinating flowers, visit Today’s Flowers, and be sure to visit Scenic Sunday as well.

Belltown is a sort of hip and trendy area in downtown Seattle. I thought I’d post something a little different for Ruby Tuesday, the view down from sidewalk level to the parking lot near the cafe where I met someone for coffee. Note the very green weeds! A bit gritty, but the scene’s still vibrant and creative, doing that urban juxtaposition thing.
