Visiting the old, hilltop neighborhood of Port Townsend, WA recently, this pretty pink hollyhock decorated the garden of the old house we were staying in.

These plants are called green onions on the West coast, and scallions on the East coast, where I grew up. They grow well in my Seattle garden, coming back and multiplying each year so nicely.
