Garden peonies

Here’s a breath of warmth and summer for us Northern Hemisphere folks—pink peonies in my backyard from six months ago.

Sweetpeas, lilies and snaps

Thought I’d give you a vision of July flowers on this gray January day. Going through the archives to upload more photos into Free Photos “next door” (do check it out, or subscribe in that section, to see what’s new), I came across this shot of part of my front garden in my last house. I love flowers; can you tell? One of the things that happened in the four years or so we lived there is that our neighbors began to plant more flowers, and they said that we had inspired them. That felt good, and looked good, too!

Fence shadows

Now beginning the THIRD year of Sara’s Fave Photos. What a kick!

A little late for Shadow Shot Sunday, but still here with a shadow photo. That’s Puget sound in the distance, seen through the slats.

I really like this shot, and I can’t figure out why, really. Hope you do, too.

Roses for Today's Flower

I don’t usually like flower photos with insects, but I’m making an exception for this bee working the red rose. But then again, the non-bee one is pretty nice, too. Which do you prefer?
