Cosmos raindrops
We’ve had a LOT of rain. Seattle doesn’t actually get very much rain per year, only about 36″ in an average year. What we have a lot of, usually, is cloudy and dim. But this month has been quite rainy, and due to the late onset of summer, the plants were looking better than they usually do at this time.
Here’s a shot of my backyard cosmos after a recent downpour.

I like this photo very much, the graceful arc of the stem decorated with the rain gems really speaks to me, so I’ve tagged this post Best Post of the Week.

I like the back shot! Really pretty.
I like your different angle on the classic flower shot. Here in the desert, I’d have to use a garden hose to get the same effect.
marvelous shot!
Beautiful shots!
Ah! A drenched beauty.
Pretty! Love the color too! Happy WW!
Great photo! 😀
Visiting from WW
Beautiful.
HA! WE had more rain, I bet!
Beautiful flower blossom….

Very nicely captured.
Beautiful picture, Sara! The slightly different angle shows a compelling side to this lovely wet flower.
A different look, loving it. the drops are so perfect, after all nature knows how to show it well.
I haven’t been able to photograph many cosmos this summer, so I am really enjoying this one! I love all the raindrops, and the backside of the blossom!!
Absolutely gorgeous! Love the angle you chose to shoot the photo. Really nice perspective.
Beautifully done!
This pink is so beautiful. I always think of my girl students telling me that pink and purple are their fav colors. Today, I was at a coffee place, a mum has a 2 year old. She was pink all over.
Beautiful. There is a story in there.
