Red dahlias
At the Pike Place Market in Seattle a couple of weeks ago, the dahlia display was breathtaking. Every color, every form, and armloads of them, all grown locally of course. Here are some red ones for you to enjoy.
Visit Ruby Tuesday for more redness of all kinds. Perhaps click on the tag “red” while you are here? Visit the latest post always by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos above.

Dazzling depth of colour i n these beautiful dahlias! They look wonderful en masse!
Dahlias have so much depth and texture. Nicely captured here! I planted them one year but didn’t keep up with the bulbs.
Dahlias can’t stand soggy soil, especially when it’s cold. So it’s easy to lose them over the winter. I had a bunch last year and almost nothing this year because the Seattle area had an unusually wet and cool spring. Next time I plant them I will dig them up over the winter.
How glorious is this!?!!!
