Magenta phalaenopsis orchid
These butterfly-shaped orchids are irresistable. I love the way there is a whole stream of them on one stem, one behind the other. I took this photo at Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle not too long ago. Orchids are amazing and there seem to be some in bloom throughout the entire year at the Conservatory. Whatever they do, it’s working.
Visit Macro Flowers Saturday , Color Carnival , Pink Saturday and SOOC (straight out of the camera) if you have time. Great photos there.
While you are here, be sure to explore and do a search (orchid?) or a new tag (magenta?). And to get to the latest post and the full blog, click on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.

I feel I am missing out on something and maybe I should go plant some orchids
My dad’s fav, his was the white colour.
It’s a gorgeous orchid! Love the color.
Gorgeous orchid!
Beautiful!
They are gorgeous orchids. Your photo is very beautiful but it makes me so sad because I had to throw out one of my Phalaenopsis, eaten by some kind of pest, in just one day. Now I’m afraid for the others ones.
Thanks for identifying my hummingbirds and for sharing on Macro Flowers Saturday!
Thanks, Maia, for making me realize I spelled Phalaenopsis wrong; now I’ve corrected it. I was lazy and didn’t check first. Glad you enjoyed the orchid photo.

Stunning details. I can see each vein in the petals. Gorgeous colors.
Very pretty, especially up close.

Lovely color!
I love the colour, and all the details!!! The horn things at the bottom of the central flower always make me laugh!
They’re like a little portal for the pollinators: In here, please!
So lovely!
