Cloudy skies
I know everyone likes the sunshiny skies, but since this IS Seattle, once in awhile I have to show what it truly looks like. These clouds over Volunteer Park do have a little tone variation, and you can tell I’ve lived here for a bit, because I do appreciate that the clouds aren’t just one tone of gray! Seattle doesn’t actually get any more rain than New York City, say, only about 36 inches a year on average, but it sure is cloudy, a lot. Did I mention dark and cloudy?
Anyway, be sure to visit Skywatch Friday for more skies all around the world. Outdoor Wednesday has more outdoor photos of all kind, and Scenic Sunday has more great scenery. If there’s just one photo here, click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the full blog.

With our upcoming cold spell, I can almost see that tree trying to wrap it’s naked branches around the trunk for some extra warmth.
I love gloomy days. Maybe I’ll take to Seattle as duck to water 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend.
It may be cloudy, however the autumn leaves add the splash of color in this lovely shot. Have a beautiful day.
Oh, yes! That’s how it looked in our part of Seattle, too! Gray and grumpy and a cold wind!! Terrific capture, Sara, as always! Love the tree silhouetted against that “grumpy” sky! Hope you’ve had a good week and wishing you a lovely weekend!

Hi Sara,
It’s been cloudy up here on Vancouver Island as well. Fortunately had a break earlier.
Had a little snow today!
Have a great weekend!
Even if it’s dark or cloudy or raining, i still love this tree. Maybe in winter this will also be majestic.
Looks a little chilly over there at your part of the world..That tree sure does look like it’s now waiting for the snow.
This photo could have been shot here in south of Sweden. I love the autumn colours!
