Lupine leaves with water drops
This year I think it’s even too cold for the slugs. The lupines are coming up all unmolested, although maybe it’s my campaign with the clippers last year that’s having an effect. Last week the sun peeked through and sparkled in water caught in these lupine leaves.

I love that image too. lol Happy SSS.
I love those water droplets on the leaves. I bet you can’t wait for those lupines to bloom!
Lovely Lupine leaves! I’m sure they are enjoying being slug-free! I hope you have a wonderful weekend Sara 🙂
There are deep mysteries in those leafy shadows…
SOME SAY THAT SHADOWS
Some say that shadows are fragments of light,
Others that they are but pieces of night,
Fleeing like demons when dawn becomes day,
Fearing the radiance coming their way.
Is one notion wrong and one notion right?
Just what are shadows if they are not light?

Lupines are one of my favorite flowers. have you ever noticed their subtle fragrance? It’s sort of peppery/musky. I love it. and as you’ve captured here, their leaves are lovely too. have a great day.
The first bright green leaves of deciduous shrubs and trees in the spring are always a welcome site. Great photo! Lupines are beautiful little plants that really fill a niche in the garden. That is if you can find the right micro-climate for them. Often on our late spring hikes in the mountains here we come across fields of them.
I love the way water beads up on certain plants’ leaves. Birds and small animals can take advantage of that.
Sorry to be tardy getting back to you about daffodil sap. It is a documented fact in the florist industry that the sap will clog the stems of other flowers in a mixed arrangement if the daffodils are not properly conditioned. The result is that the other flowers wilt more quickly. You’ve probabaly only seen and used conditioned daffodils. I remember how Roman hyacinths never lasted in our daffodil bouquets when I was a child but I didn’t know why. We didn’t know about conditioning back then. My Mama was of the ‘use an armload of blossoms and just jam ’em in a vase’ style of flower arrangement.
Nice shot!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my travel-i-tales, Sara.
Your dew-shot is great. I find it difficult to capture this kind of image. Guess I must learn to wake up before the sun dries up the dew!!!
