Old-fashioned forsythia
Plants have fashions like anything else, at least garden plants do. I don’t see too many people planting old-fashioned forsythia, but I don’t know why not. It blazes in such a flame of welcome color in the early spring.

Sydney – City and Suburbs
The forsythias in our area are blooming. We don’t have any of these plants on our property, but I would love to. My MIL had several of these and I always loved seeing their bright blooms near Easter.
Come by to see me on my new WP blog home with today’s post WW: Cherohala Skyway!
Can’t wait see yellow blooms here, but I think we have a few weeks to go.
Always the first shrub to bloom in the spring. A burst of sunny yellow after a long winter is a welcomed sight. Nicely captured.
It’s so funny that you are sharing this gorgeous photo today Sara because this morning I saw a forsythia in a nearby garden and I thought it’s been ages since I’ve seen one.
I think I might have to plant one in my own garden. It’s such a wonderful colour…that brings a smile to my face ;D
Waving from a springy Bonnie Scotland
Thank you for reminding me – I need to go cut some forsythia to force in the house…
I love that cheerful yellow, and with the new varieties that can tolerate the freezing temperatures in winter, I think they are so welcome!!
Stunning Yellow! 🙂
Very pretty…. I have one along the deck…. Michelle from Nature Nites
Forsythia is the first flowering bush in the garden and a very generous one, so of course everyone should have one!
It might be old-fashioned, but I love it!
Stunning! So welcome in spring!
Remember it well . None here in Florida. Back in the PNW, in our family we called it ForCynthia, because that’s how our daughter heard it … Her name!
Love this…… a sunshine bush!…..Happy Sunday!
Lovely gathering of sunny yellows. Pretty and delicate blooms.
No problem with old-fashioned thing like this, they look wonderful.
Dear Sara,
I like Forsythia very much and your photo of this wonderful blooming bush is beautiful and so full with light of the sun!!!
Enjoy a good time 🙂
