Oregon iris
This pretty Oregon iris (iris tenax) was growing in front of a little museum near Alki beach, near Seattle. The flowers are about ankle height and the blooms are 3 or 4 inches across (10 cm. or so). It’s a new one to me.

Thanks for visiting here and be sure to click around and find something new.

Beautiful photo. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this iris, or any iris that is only ankle high. I just passed some this morning on my walk that are at least 3 feet high. I posted my first image to Today’s Flowers and I Heart Macro today —and it is a purple and white flower, too, but I have no idea what it is.
I think I’ll have to alternate which memes I participate in—don’t have time to do them all. I used to do a bunch, then got busy and stopped blogging for a while. Trying to get back into it again.
What a beauty!
Oh this one is just lovely. Such a soft shade of purple. I’ve never seen this type either.
Never heard of this one before! it is a gorgeous little thing!!

It is really a lovely flower beautifully captured.
