Mountain laurel
Another image from my recent visit to the South Seattle College Arboretum (see the posts below), taken near the Alki Cafe (surprisingly delicious food). Mountain laurel certainly seems related to rhododendron, no?

Beautiful shot. Yes, the flower-clusters and leaf-shape seem to indicate a family resemblance to Rhodies.
Lovely! I haven’t seen the red kind; our mountain laurel is light pink.

What a lovely colorful rhododendrons
Beautiful flowers, l’ve never heard of a Mountain Laurel before….l don’t think we have any native laurel’s in Australia. Must go and look that up……
Thanks for linking up again Sara. xx
That is beautiful- love the two tone coloring. I don’t know anything about Mountain Laurel but it definitely resembles rhododendrons.
Lovely how the two tones are so beautifully tucked together as in a bouquet. Gorgeous photo.
I love the two colors together. Mother nature gives us such a variety. It is so wonderful.
