I’ve been growing potatoes in a different way, and it is looking like my best potatoes ever. My friend told me how to do it and let me collect bags of dried leaves from under her trees to use. I started with a layer of good dirt and fertilizer (about 6″), put the potatoes just under the surface, watered well, and as they grew kept adding dried leaves, letting some green tops stay uncovered, keeping it well watered, adding more leaves as I could. This bin was started at the very end of April, and look at it today! Below are the flowers from the red potatoes.
