Mt. Rainier with airplane
Even though lenticular clouds mean rain is coming, we love them so much. They look like flying saucers or hats, or generate all kinds of whimsical ideas. This recent view of Mt. Rainier from the overlook near my house had the special addition of a plane flying right over it.
Today I have the honor of being Guest Host on Skywatch Friday. Go see all the wonderful sky photographers listed there.

Sara: Very cool shot of a wonderful place, thanks for sharing this great view from the Pacific NW.
Fantastic shot, Sara, I do love those lenticular clouds, as you said, even if it means more rain! Thank you so much for hosting Sky Watch today!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

That’s a beautiful shot and I also love your photo on the SkyWatch homepage today.

Mt. Rainier creates the same reaction in me as Mt. Fuji in Japan! Just majestic!

Thank you for hosting. Do you like the new format of the thumbnail/peek views? Love the way you can identify clouds.

Absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful clouds and even a plain up there. I like how the clouds touch the peek of the mountain, in the far horizon.
Have a great weekend!
Such an awesome sight! The clouds looks like it was painted there, beautiful!
Your picture brings back memories. When we lived in Ollala, Washington, Mt. Rainer was in the windshield every time we left our house. You also picked a great picture to lead this week. Both are excellent.
what a beautiful view Sara…and congratulations on being todays skywatch host…also a spectacular sky.
An outstanding piece of work on the mountain. Very nicely done.
