Flower for today: early rhodie
It was not as cold as it had been, before this latest rain cycle, so the other day I got out for a walk. There were some rhododendrons actually blooming. Spring is always so amazing. The thrill of the first one! Of course, as my sister says, “Somebody has to go first,” so I guess I shouldn’t always feel so surprised. Everyone else still sleeping, and this brave soul just blooming its little heart out.

Hi Sara, this is such a stunning flower! I never have seen one like it. Thanks for the information on my flower and sharing this photo. Best wishes 🙂
What a beautiful shade of pink!! And the flowers are so delicate!
A really lovely Rhododendron, at a guess, one of the smaller varieties.
These ain’t common in Singapore. They look real delicate and beautiful 🙂
Rhododendrons are spectacular plants. Only a few varieties grow in my area and we have to add acidity to our soil to get them to thrive…so I think you are very lucky!

beautiful! I am so glad spring is almost here :)!
I love this shot. Stunning hues of pink on a dark green background.
cute pink flowers, i think we don’t have that in our place or i haven’t seen one here! beautiful shots! mine is up at http://racelyn.com/2009/03/todays-flowers-29.html
Lovely shots of your rhododendron. Mine has its buds tightly shut (good thing, as we just got more snow than we’ve gotten all winter). We have acidic soil, so those and azalea thrive here.
They are so beautiful!
Such beautiful flowers! I also LOVE flowers and I’m always taking pics of flowers from my garden. You should visit my blogs and watch them.
Thanks for your comment on my sky in SkywatchFr.
