An orchid flower for you
I believe this is a phalenopsis orchid, but I could be spelling it wrong, and altogether wrong about its name. It was at a local garden club flower show a few weeks ago. I’ve never had success growing them, but they sure are lovely and tempting to try again. Maybe someday.

You are right this is a Phalaenopsis Orchid also called Butterfly Orchid. If you grow them indoors they need a warm room with lots of natural light, not a south window it would get to hot for these delicate beauties.
I know I say this a lot but I gotta say it again: Beautiful!
Have a great week.

Nice shot. Believe it or not–Orchids are very easy to go but one must be patient. Not for me. MB
Hi Sara. I was just blogging around and I came across your blog on Wordless Wednesday. Your photos are very pretty! I love orchids! I wanted to invite you to my Scenic Sundays – a photography carnival that I just started hosting. You’re welcomed to join in any day. Hope to see you there.
Sara, I was looking around your blog a little more and I saw that you’re already participating in a Scenic Sunday. I didn’t know there was another one out there. I hope you still join me at Pieces of Me. You could post your photos on both if you want. I’d love to share your photos with my followers.
Hi,
fantastica foto…:-)
Buona serata.-
It’s LOVELY ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
That is indeed the Butterfly Orchid, very beautiful. I have also just been give one and the first one I killed so here is to not doing the same with this one, just a quick question how many times a week should one water them?? I have been doing twice a week is this ok????
I’m no expert, but I think it’s too much. I think they need less rather than more water, great drainage. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Sara
Thanks for answering my question and I am going to do just than less is more and see how I go.
Keep well and see you soon
Regards
Kim
