Puget Sound ferry
It’s great when my husband drives and I can lean out the window or, in this case, across him, and take photos. The view from the viaduct in Seattle is amazing and we hope it doesn’t go away with the proposed tunnel. For more photos of water around the world, click HERE.
Just for fun, below that is a monochrome version. Which do you like better?

Hi…very gorgeous view indeed! I hope the tunnel does not change it!
I like the original with the blue/gray hues…especially love the light “spot” in the far off there!
I prefer the color version.
I think if the clouds had a bit more color variation (like the band across the middle) to make them stand out more, I’d like the monochrome version. As it is, the top portion of the monochrome picture just seems to come across flat. The blue coloration gives it a bit more depth.
I do like the wake from the ferry in both photos.
BTW – I like it when my husband drives and I get to take pics, too.
Great shot! The lines from the wake of the boat really add to the photo. Beautiful!
Fantastic view. love it.
I’d go for the coloured one as well. There are too many lines which are distracting in the b/w version.
Definitely the Coloured one, the muted tones make the photo and give you more of a sense of being there which is lost on the monochrome version (which I guess is the reason there isn’t a lot of contrast on the black & white shot).
That is quite a view! I am not sure I can choose between these two, they are both beautiful in their own way! I don’t use black/white often myself, but I can still see it brings a classic style to a photo! In this case, I think it brings a bit of drama into the sceen! Lovely!
Oh…I love all the PNW scenes. I’d have to say that the color photo does it for me. It somehow has more depth and drama. Great shot. I love all the ferries that ply the waters of the Puget Sound…and you captured this little one perfectly.
