Red orchid cactus macro
This photo was taken exactly one year ago at the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle. Orchid cactus plants have the showiest blooms, many times a few inches across, but for some reason red flowers are the very hardest for my Canon camera’s sensor to capture accurately, and I wish the petals looked more like the actual plant did instead of like a finger painting. But the white center parts make this flower photo pretty special anyway.

Yes that is very beautiful and the white anthers are very vivid. I wonder why i cannot also get lovely colors for reds, i thought it was just white balance which i can’t decipher to correctly do.
Gorgeous!
Such a vibrant color!

Very nice! You captured the shade of red perfectly. When I try to photograph red flowers, they often turn out overly saturated. I can see the details on the petals on this one. Kudos!
Such a beautiful vibrant colour, despite your problems with the sensor. My camera has the same problem with yellow flowers.
Stunning photo.
What an amazing Orkidé! Gorgeous!
