Heliotrope planting
Was at Seattle’s beloved Volunteer Park Conservatory yesterday and was just gaga at how gorgeous the outside beds are this season. What colors, and this photo does not do it justice. The purple stuff is heliotrope and sometimes it has a heady fragrance.
An update about the Conservatory: It’s now out of the woods financially, due to the fundraising efforts of many dedicated folks, and if you go you’ll pay a big $4 admission, but you can get an annual pass for unlimited admissions, and still free parking! Closed Mondays.

I love the purple colour!
Stunning flower beds! What a wonderful place!
I am so glad this place has recovered financially, it should be a shame to see a place that holds so much beauty close. Your photo is outstanding Sara. Long may the conservatory stay open. I know the joy I get when I go to ours. Thanks for sharing!

I love this carpet of colors.
Purple, my favorite color! Beautiful
After a recent visit to the conservatory, I was wondering what the purple flowers were and found it here. Thanks
