Cotoneaster berries
This is a close up of a cotoneaster (ka-tone-ee-AST-er) shrub in our yard, beloved by birds and photographers alike. The berries are small, about the size of a pea, and they adorn the arching branches in fall and winter. I was amazed to learn its pronunciation, by the way. I was sure it would be something like cotton-Easter. But no.

They are very pretty berries and I think “Cotton Easter” would be easier to say.
Great berries, so cute and incredibly abundant. I always want one of these when I see them, the Cotoneasters I’ve bought don’t look that good.
Beautiful, colorful ornamental shrub. The birds will be feasting!
I reckon your Cotton Easter name is a winner – quick get it a trademark! No wonder your birds are loving their feast at your place!

Very nice berries, I could eat some just about now.
Have a nice rest of the week!
Beautiful!
Cotoneaster always remind me of winter, I love photographing the thrushes in winter feeding on them I guess that is why there is the association in my mind.
I’ve started a linky on my blog for photography – Photo of the week – where fellow photographers/bloggers can link up their best photo of that week and I’d love you to link up some of your wonderful photos.
