Volunteer Park Conservatory outside

Before the fires in British Columbia, Canada started making Seattle air so smoky (see post below), last week saw sunny skies in Seattle. Here is a photo of one of my favorite places in the world, Volunteer Park Conservatory, at the end of the day. The outside plantings this season are especially gorgeous, and these photos don’t do them justice. Love that purple and chartreuse! Bonus flowerbed close-up image below.

Smoky sky at the Cove

Seattle is getting a lot of smoke in the air from the fires near Vancouver, BC. Smoky skies can be pretty scenic, no?

Sequim scene

The town of Sequim (pronounced skwim!), WA has a lavender festival every year. They also have some wonderful street art.

Horizontal rainbow

Not sure what this sideways cloud rainbow is really called, but it sure is beautiful and unusual. Taken by friend and neighbor Dave Heston, over our house!
