In Seattle, it’s remarkable how close to the calendar the turn of the season feels. This week begins Fall, and sure enough, the trees are coloring up quite nicely.

A change of pace. This perfect rose was photographed at the Garden Club flower show not too long ago.

Macro of a perfect rose, pale orange color. Can you see the tiny water droplets to the left?

A view of the north fork of the Skokomish River in Mason Co., WA, from the bridge at Staircase Campground. Please see post below for a view from the other direction, further down the river.

We went camping at Staircase campground in the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest. It was beautiful.

When I was in Mexico this spring, I was charmed to see amaryllis blooming in gardens. So I put mine on the patio in full sun, figuring if it can take sun in Mexico, it can certainly take it in Seattle. It bloomed today!

I was at a flower show today, where garden club members get together and put sprigs of what’s blooming on display.

Alstroemeria, or Peruvian lily, is an excellent cut flower and very easy to grow
