Cloud forms

Not sure if this looks like a giant crab or what. What do you see? I love the clear skies Seattle has been having. We are blessed and lucky.

They look like something, but what?

Peace rose serenity

What is it about roses? I love them so much. In the dusky late light, still so very beautiful.

Evening lavender garden

I adore these long days when I get to be in the garden in the dreamy twilight. Today I cut some of the lavender. There is a lot!

Roses with lavender

Some roses from my garden, with a few stems of lavender, on the first day of summer. The lavender is at the perfect stage for drying, before the individual florets have opened, but it works well in a bouquet, too. The peach one is Carding Mill, a David Austin rose.

Rose garden shadows

We visited Woodland Park Rose Garden in Seattle yesterday, in perfect weather. I need more pink roses in my life.

Foxglove dots

I love foxgloves, such a good garden flower in my Seattle yard. Reseeds but you can move the little new plants easily, and they’ll bloom next year. Tall and elegant, their dots just float my boat.

Shiny red cherries

Just picked, from our dwarf, five-graft cherry tree! It bore nothing last year, so this delicious first picking is especially welcome. Below the cherries you can see the netting with clothespins hubby put on the tree a week ago.

Sweet red cherries, maybe Bings? Picked the first week in June in my Seattle back yard.

Irises

Smelling like grape soda, these irises in a friend’s garden were a spring delight. The dark purple color of the lower petals is the finest velvet.

Perfection and imperfection

The beautiful calla lilies are beginning to bloom. Something took a bite out of that leaf!
