Winter arrangement

On my visit to Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory last week, there was this in the entryway:

Window reflections

Finally got to get outside today. Super cold, but sunny. Here are some trees and sky and brick buildings with windows reflected in windows of brick buildings, looking fine in Seattle.

Birds roosting

It’s getting dark pretty early these days, and these crows were hunkering down for the night against a cloudy sky with rain on the way. You’d think this was old black-and-white film!

Glass building reflections

Finally, a current photo, hot off the memory card. I was lucky enough to be in Belltown yesterday, an area of Seattle I don’t usually get to walk around. And it was sunny!

April lilacs

I know I’m rushing the season, but coming across these pinkish lavender lilacs I just had to post them. They bloomed in April in 2010 and maybe we’ll see lilacs in April this year, too. Right now that seems impossibly far away. Breathe that scent deep, now!

Willow tree reflections

My recent trip to the East coast included a few days in scenic Connecticut. Springtime is in full array there, with the trees leafing out, ahead of cool and wet Seattle. I love the reflections of the willow trees and bare branches in the mirror pond and hope you do, too. I’m calling it my my Best Post of the Week.

You might check out Watery Wednesday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Weekend Reflections, Shadow Shot Sunday 2, Scenic Sunday, Skywatch Friday and Wordless Wednesday. Please follow this blog on the new widget to the right if you enjoy the photos. Thanks for visiting!

Transparent building

This “transparent” building was decorating my ride home in Seattle the other day. I love how glass looks on buildings at times like this. Something so simple as glass doing something so magical!

Please visit  Skywatch Friday for magnificent sky photos taken around the planet. Also check out Scenic Sunday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, and Shadow Shot Sunday 2.

I will be away for a week or so and have scheduled some blog posts for while I am gone. I hope you enjoy them and look forward to sharing some new photos with you from the New York City area when I return.

Bare trees against the sky

Here’s a pretty little scene for you, even though many trees are still dormant. Signs of spring are around, but the still-bare branches do have their beauty.

As you might know, Google Friend Connect has vanished from all non-Blogger sites. Darn! Please follow this blog on the sidebar at the right with the new Linky Tools. Thank you.

Please visit Outdoor Wednesday, Scenic Sunday, A Piece of Heaven,  SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera) and Skywatch Friday. Thanks for browsing around here first.
