Rain coming

We are students of clouds and cloud cover in Seattle. It doesn’t actually rain that much, about the same as New York City per year, but we have more cloudy days than any other city, I’ve heard. So we look at the sky a lot to check if it’s clearing up. Or not. Loved these exciting, swirling clouds before some recent rain.

Dark sky at the overlook

A striking sky and water scene, just for a moment, at the overlook near my house. Actual color of the image!

Snow on cedar tree

We have a huge cedar tree in out backyard. Here it is in the heavy, wet snow that fell, before it all started to melt. Bonus image below: our front yard. You can see that there is even snow accumulated on the power lines, but it was already starting to fall off.

White rose macro: color and black-and-white

The name of this rose is Honor. The late afternoon light was so beautiful this evening.

And here it is in black and white. I always have such resistance to letting the color go. Which is more thrilling?

Added a few days later, a sepia image. I think maybe I like this one best!

Two fruit trees

Both trees are five-grafts; the one on the left is has cherries and on the right, plums. We are looking at my yard towards my neighbors’, behind the fruit trees. Which version do you prefer? Happy Spring!
