Autumn leaf shadows

There was a brief bit of sun late in the day and it lit up an orange tree.

Late hydrangeas

When the hydrangeas get a little crepe-y, time to cut and bring them in to dry.

Tomato harvest

And don’t forget the lemon cucumbers, two kinds of string beans, or the truly sweet Italian plums. Late summer is the best!

April tulips

Browsing my archives, I found some wonderful tulips from a visit to Seattle’s Pike Place Market. We can enjoy tulips in August, right?

Lavender Japanese anemone

If you have a roomy, shady spot for a Japanese anemone, it has such pretty flowers. I love flowers that come back every year.

Home-grown peaches

Our young ‘Frost’ peach tree is about three years old. It doesn’t get peach-leaf curl and has such fragrant, sweet yellow fruit, even ripening in Seattle’s short summers. Time for a cobbler!

Yellow begonias

Looking through the archives (I MUST get rid of all those less-than-stellar photos and unclog my hard drive) I found this photo of golden yellow begonias from Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory taken in March, 2010. I really like it and hope you do, too.

Pink lavender

Not everyone knows that the lavender plant comes in several colors, and one is pink!

Rain on hostas

We were lucky enough to have a good rain; Seattle has been quite dry this spring. All the garden plants enjoyed it.

Water droplets like jewels on ribbed hosta leaves. Note the flower buds emerging.

Red raspberries just picked

Our berry bushes are producing! Thankfully neither the squirrels or the birds seem that interested.
