I love my little sundew plant. It’s a carnivorous plant that eats fruit flies and soil gnats. A bog plant, so likes to sit in water in the outer pot, and you must never fertilize as the little bugs is all the food it wants. Can you see a speck or two of bugs it’s feasting on right now? When it gets warmer there will be more fruit flies for it.

Sundew drosera capensis very happy after being repotted.

The front roses getting ready for their first bloom. This year the little bed with the foxgloves, hardy fuchsia, and armeria looks good, too.

These are not really tulips but bulbs in the lily family, and first appeared in the 1500s. I remember seeing them in old Dutch still lifes. They come back every year in my garden in Seattle.

Also called muscari, these darling little bell-shaped flowers are a favorite early spring flower, even though they have no fragrance. See my pink magnolia in the background, almost blooming? Spring is truly here.

Happy Spring Equinox! We are blessed with sunny weather in Seattle this whole week. Don’t know why we don’t see more of these forsythias around Seattle but I love them.

It’s a special bonus when the time change day is sunny, especially in Seattle. This little crocus and its friend greeted me, all wet from the rain just earlier.

Oh, photo archives are a treasure. So many photos, and after a few years, some are completely new to me. I took that? Apparently I did, on a garden tour ten years ago. Here’s to July, and kitties, and sunshine!
