Thimphu, Bhutan

My sister Jo Sanders is traveling in India and Bhutan. This is one of her photos. If you enjoy armchair travel, she is an extraordinary writer, not a bad photographer at all, and you are welcome to read her fascinating blog.

"On the drive from Thimphu [Bhutan] this morning we went over a mountain pass at over 10,000 feet."

Driftwood on the beach

Someone built this structure out of driftwood at Richmond Beach in Washington. Almost looks like a dinosaur skeleton, doesn’t it?

Shabby old chairs

Even though these graceful chairs in a Richmond Beach, WA coffee shop have seen better days, they still make me want to sit there. Side note: the chair on the left appears to be Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2015, Marsala.

Old upholstered chairs with carved wood and tufted backs still have some faded glory.

Cle Elum River

Camping at Salmon La Sac a couple of weeks ago, the Cle Elum River was very low. Let’s hope today’s rain here in Seattle can help the fires and low rivers to the east.

At an outdoor blues event tonight in Normandy Park WA, the oncoming storm was kind enough to delay a bit for us.

Ode to Hopper

At Pike Place Market the other day. Skies are smoky from the wildfires burning in the rest of Washington.

Wish I’d thought to take one of these to sprinkle in my garden.

Pink hollyhocks

Visiting the old, hilltop neighborhood of Port Townsend, WA recently, this pretty pink hollyhock decorated the garden of the old house we were staying in.
