Lavender flower macro

I need some pretty flowers to look at. Lots of misery in the world lately.

My friend’s lavender is still in bloom.

Red and pink rose garden

My roses in the front yard are loving this warm, dry weather, even though the sky is so hazy with smoke from the Canada wildfires.

Volunteer Park Conservatory outside

Before the fires in British Columbia, Canada started making Seattle air so smoky (see post below), last week saw sunny skies in Seattle. Here is a photo of one of my favorite places in the world, Volunteer Park Conservatory, at the end of the day. The outside plantings this season are especially gorgeous, and these photos don’t do them justice. Love that purple and chartreuse! Bonus flowerbed close-up image below.

The Sequim Lavender Festival in Washington is so scenic!

Lavender bunches

Just got back from the Sequim Lavender Festival on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Oh, such fun.

Fresh lavender in bunches at the Graysmarsh Farm booth next to my Love That Image Glass Tile Jewelry booth. They had yummy berries, too!

Lavender wreaths

My daughter is “crafty.” She saw all the lavender I have growing and decided we should make a wreath. She cut some willow for the base, tied it into a circle with jute twine, then added overlapping bunches of the fresh lavender while wrapping the twine. It worked! Here they are in my carport, drying.

Dusk at the Conservatory

There was a special music event, Lush Sounds Vol. I, at the Volunteer Park Conservatory last evening. Magical outside and inside!

Lilacs in the rain

I do love lilacs. They look good even in this wettest year ever in Seattle.
