Spring lilacs and bluebells

My morning view of the front yard. Planting the bluebells only three years ago was a success! Soon they will fade but the roses and lavender will take over. If only the lilacs lasted longer.

Little cherub

Even on a gray and rainy day, there is beauty in the world.

Cotoneaster berries

The cotoneaster berries are super red this year. Birds and photographers love their winter redness. Note: this plant has an extremely weird pronunciation. You might think it was “cotton Easter,” but no. It’s actually pronounced cuh-tone-ee-AST-er. Isn’t that something?

Bunny in the garden

Oh they are cute, absolutely. As long as they stay with the fallen apples and leave my vegetables alone!

Orange daylilies

The good rain we’ve had this spring has been great for the garden. The back flowerbed hasn’t had much attention from me but the daylilies and rose campion are doing so well. Enjoy the glorious summer sunshine!

Rose garden

The front roses getting ready for their first bloom. This year the little bed with the foxgloves, hardy fuchsia, and armeria looks good, too.

Tawny the horse

From ten years ago, Tawny grazing the horse pasture next door, taken from my yard. A big house and garage are there now, all fenced in. Life is change.

January in California

Here’s a little video clip of a January trip to Sonoma County, CA a few years ago. Scenic barn! Live oak! Birdsong!

And a still from the same scene. I wish you a scenic 2020.

Sky over Puget Sound

At the Cove in Normandy Park WA last evening, the sky was mostly gray but quite beautiful, I thought.

May flowerbed

Even though it’s fall now, May sounds pretty good to me. This is a scene from my May backyard a few years ago.
