Roof plants in San Miguel

Many of the roofs in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico have plants in pots at the roof’s edge over the street. I do wonder about earthquakes, if not high winds.

Parroquía San Miguel Arcángel

Two views of the interior, one above the other, of the Parroquía church in San Miguel de Allende, in Mexico. I have never seen bricked vaulted ceilings anywhere but in San Miguel.

The high ceiling of the famed Parroquía church is vaulted and covered with brickwork. I do worry about earthquakes when I see such a ceiling.

San Miguel street scenes

The tiny streets of San Miguel de Allende are much better for pedestrians than auto traffic. All the buildings in the center of town must be painted in earth tones.

San Miguel courtyards

Walking around el centro, the main central area of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, sometimes you can peek into courtyards from the street.

One more thing. Today is my 8th Blogoversary! What a fun time I’ve had. Thanks, everyone, for visiting and commenting. It really makes my day.

Arches at Bellas Artes, San Miguel

Beautiful groined vault ceilings at Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende, the most beautiful art school ever. From the second floor walkway around a courtyard with orange trees, you can see a magnificent domed church, Las Monjas (The Nuns).

San Miguel de Allende

I am back from visiting my sister who lives in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, my first trip to San Miguel and only my second trip to Mexico altogether. The first one was so very long ago.

Of course it was photo heaven for me. I’ll be posting more than one photo for awhile, I think, since there were so very many wonderful images. Here are the first two.

Horse grazing

We used to have a horse pasture behind our backyard. Those days are gone. Hope Tawny is grazing happily somewhere wonderful.

Tulips emerging

There was a sunbreak recently (a very Seattle thing) and I went outside to work in the garden. The bulbs are starting! Behind the tulip sprouts are bluebells starting up.
