Giant sedum heart

Here is another post about something you just don’t see every day. This giant sedum heart, at least ten or fifteen feet tall (I heard it weighed several tons!), was a big hit in the lobby area of the Northwest Flower & Garden Show. To see several more floral images that I recently posted from last year’s show, just put NWFGS in the search box at right.

Boat garage

Not sure what the real name of this kind of structure is, seen in Florida at the Bonnet House in Ft. Lauderdale, but I call it a boat garage. (Now I’m told it’s a boat house.)

Yellow door

We visited the Bonnet House in Ft. Lauderdale. Here is a door that fascinated me.

Table and chair shadows two ways

The other day it was sunny and the local Starbucks’ outdoor furniture looked like music to me, somehow.

And here it is in black and white. Which do you prefer? I’m undecided here.

Maritime Building

Driving on the Seattle Viaduct, soon to be no more, the stop-and-go traffic let me take this photo. The “golden hour,” truly.

Mukilteo pier

Meeting a friend for lunch on Friday in Mukilteo WA, the weather cooperated and we saw some fine shadows and a fabulous view.

Seattle’s 12th man

Tomorrow is a big game for Seahawks fans. I really like the flags all around town with the simple “12” design, showing fandom. Seattleites will be delirious if they win tomorrow and go to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row. Good luck, Hawks!

Tulip time

Not until April, but here’s a quick peek at the unbelievably scenic Skagit Valley Tulip Festival north of Seattle, WA. I really love this image and I am calling it my weekly Top Shot.
