Dusk at the overlook in autumn

It’s been awhile since I posted a view of the overlook around the block from where I live. This is an early fall view of the soft sky and waters of Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest. I hope you like looking at it as much as I enjoyed being there.

Joining Pink Saturday, Mellow Yellow Monday, A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, My Romantic Home, and Scenic Sunday. All worth visiting, and thanks for stopping by here.

Angels Trumpet (brugmansia)

Oh, the slinky and glamorous Angels Trumpet (brugmansia) flowers at the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle are so exciting. You must go and see them before they are done. This pink one, viewed from below, was all lit up in the amazing sunshine we have been having here in Seattle. You can see the blue sky through the Conservatory’s glass walls. It’s been about ten weeks of pure, brilliant happiness and while it can’t last much longer, we surely are enjoying the heck out of it. And let’s call this one my Best Post of the Week.

Visit Mellow Yellow Monday, Macro Monday, Today’s Flowers, Floral Friday, Flower Art Friday, Weekend Flowers, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Pink Saturday, A Piece of Heaven,  and Skywatch Friday. Sunset clouds

The weather has been fabulous in the Seattle area, with cloudless blue skies almost every day. There were some sunset clouds the other day and I had to get outside and take a few photos. These clouds look like a giant flame to me.

Linking up at Pink Saturday, Mellow Yellow Monday, A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, My Romantic Home, and Scenic Sunday. Fine places to visit for some neat photos with a theme.

Camelot rose

This pretty Camelot rose in my front garden is such a sweet and fragrant flower. It does have a little habit of dropping its petals almost as soon as it becomes fully open, but you just can’t have everything. I do like to keep the beds picked up (leaves and petals) to try to minimize black spot, but aside from looking neater, I don’t know that it really makes a difference. But such is gardening life.

Bowman Bay at sunset

Here’s another image of incredibly scenic Bowman Bay, at dusk. When I see a pink sky, I get such a photo thrill, I can’t tell you. And when that pink sky is over a scenic place, and I have a camera (of course!) and I can take the shot, there is such a deep satisfaction. And the best part is sharing it with you all, dear readers! Even though it’s only Tuesday evening, I love this image and I’m calling it my Best Post of the Week.

Participating this week at Pink Saturday, Mellow Yellow Monday, A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, Wordless Wednesday, Weekend Reflections, Scenic Sunday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Today I am linking to TWO new memes, Water World Wednesday and Nature’s Footsteps Waters. If this is the only photo below, please click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above to see the latest posts. Thank you so much for visiting, and please let me know what you think of this post. Candor appreciated.

Pier at Bowman Bay, WA

Our recent camping trip at Deception Pass State Park at Bowman Bay was blessed with sunny weather. We have had about six weeks solid of sunny weather in August and September in Seattle and it has been fabulous. The most sunshine in the nine years that I have been in the area, and I can’t tell you how much appreciated. In any case, here is a look towards the end of the pier at Bowman Bay. Shall we take a stroll?

Lots of interesting entries in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Scenic Sunday. If this is the only photo below, please click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above to see the latest posts.

The Maiden of Deception Pass

On our camping vacation to Deception Pass State Park in Washington, we stayed in the Bowman Bay area and hiked to Rosario Beach. What fun! The coast Salish native peoples carved large images, not totem poles, and this image of the legend of Maiden of Deception Pass was made for the Samish people by Fidalgo Island artist Tracy Powell in 1983. It is perhaps 20 feet tall! You can see the waters of the Pacific Ocean in the background.

I am participating in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. If this is the only photo showing below, be sure to click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above to see them all. Thanks for visiting and come back soon!

Dumas Bay Center view

A few weeks ago I was at a charity event at the Dumas Bay Center in Federal Way, Washington. It’s right at the water, of course, and the broad lawn is perfect for outdoor celebrations. Hope you enjoy view.

I’m participating in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Do a search for Path or Tree while you are here? Thanks for visiting and please, come back soon.

Lake Union, Seattle boats

Just a pretty, scenic shot of the dockside of Lake Union, off Westlake Avenue in Seattle the other day. Our August weather has been gorgeous! Not one drop of rain, sunny almost all day, every day. Yay!

Thia week I’m participating in A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, Ruby Tuesday 2, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday, and Mellow Yellow Monday. Thanks for visiting and please, come back soon.

Fort Ebey, WA

This old fort on Whidbey Island in Washington used to watch for Japanese invasion in World War II. You can still see the bunkers and where the big guns were, just in case. Now it’s used for parasailing and the occasional tourist. Wonderful space that made me happy.

Participating in Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday, and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Thanks for visiting and come back soon.
