Tulip time

Not until April, but here’s a quick peek at the unbelievably scenic Skagit Valley Tulip Festival north of Seattle, WA. I really love this image and I am calling it my weekly Top Shot.

Apple blossoms on the tree

Another photo from my April birthday this year, the columnar apple tree in my backyard. These blossoms are now applesauce in my freezer!

Pink dogwood tree

Back to the archives, from April. My birthday, in fact. I love the big pink dogwood tree in my backyard, next to the magnolia tree not quite blooming yet.

Sunny sky with puffy clouds

Have I mentioned that it’s been raining for quite a while? Here’s a sky from the other side of the year, in May.

Pink tulips in a field

It’s from the opposite side of the year, so maybe tulips are blooming now in Australia? In any case, a visit to my tulip archive yielded this cheerful picture.

Fig tree

I went in a friend’s backyard recently and what did I see? What a thrill to see a fig tree, covered in a LOT of figs. Yippee! I might get a fresh fig or two this year.

Backyard playhouse with flowers

Here’s another shot of my nextdoor neighbor’s playhouse, with the rhododendrons in bloom. The little girl who lives there is almost two, and is soon to have a baby brother. What a storybook come to life!
