Pink rhododendrons

The very small city I live in, Normandy Park, WA, is noted for its rhododendrons and evergreens. This was at my house yesterday.

A cedar tree maybe 300 years old in the background, and a pink rhodie with a dark pink throat.

Peachy parrot tulip

Tulip season is almost over. I love their explosions of color and form!

Canna leaves

At my favorite Seattle haunt, the Volunteer Park Conservatory, I got to peek into one of the lower support greenhouses. One of the perks of volunteering!

Grape hyacinths (Muscari)

Some flowers are already blooming in the back yard. I do love these little bulbs. Their green foliage starts so early in the year, they multiply nicely, and they bloom the same time as daffodils, pretty much. Great combo.

Hyacinth opening

That bud from the single bulb in water that I bought from Trader Joe is still making me very happy.

Hyacinth bud

Sometimes I think I enjoy buds almost more than the flowers. Possibilities! Here’s to 2018 developing into a very good year for us all.
