Bowman Bay at sunset

Here’s another image of incredibly scenic Bowman Bay, at dusk. When I see a pink sky, I get such a photo thrill, I can’t tell you. And when that pink sky is over a scenic place, and I have a camera (of course!) and I can take the shot, there is such a deep satisfaction. And the best part is sharing it with you all, dear readers! Even though it’s only Tuesday evening, I love this image and I’m calling it my Best Post of the Week.

Participating this week at Pink Saturday, Mellow Yellow Monday, A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, Wordless Wednesday, Weekend Reflections, Scenic Sunday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Today I am linking to TWO new memes, Water World Wednesday and Nature’s Footsteps Waters. If this is the only photo below, please click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above to see the latest posts. The Maiden of Deception Pass

On our camping vacation to Deception Pass State Park in Washington, we stayed in the Bowman Bay area and hiked to Rosario Beach. What fun! The coast Salish native peoples carved large images, not totem poles, and this image of the legend of Maiden of Deception Pass was made for the Samish people by Fidalgo Island artist Tracy Powell in 1983. It is perhaps 20 feet tall! You can see the waters of the Pacific Ocean in the background.

I am participating in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Dumas Bay Center view

A few weeks ago I was at a charity event at the Dumas Bay Center in Federal Way, Washington. It’s right at the water, of course, and the broad lawn is perfect for outdoor celebrations. Hope you enjoy view.

I’m participating in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Do a search for Path or Tree while you are here? Thanks for visiting and please, come back soon.

Shoreline at Deception Pass

The view from the bridge at Deception Pass on Whidbey Island in Washington is beautiful, and not just the far distances. Catch the shades of green on this moss at the rocks just north of the bridge!

Check out Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Scenic Sunday. If there’s a photo meme out there for water, I’d like to know about it. I really miss the old Watery Wednesday.

Tree silhouetted in a sunset

That Trader Joe’s parking lot in Burien WA has been the scene of some good sunsets. A big open expanse looking west is sometimes very hard to find. Yay, parking lots! And yay, Trader Joe, too! I love that place.

This sky is kind of pink, kind of yellow, and just peachy to me. Hope you agree.

Rhodies in Volunteer Park

The rhododendrons are really gorgeous this year. The winter has been pretty mild, with plenty of water, and with the brutally cold winter the previous year, I guess the plants are breathing a sigh of relief and blooming their hearts out in gratitude. This scene in Seattle’s Volunteer Park is just one tiny slice of the magnificent display that rhodies put on for us in the Pacific Northwest.

Flowering white tree

I took this photo in Connecticut when I was there not too long ago. I am sure it is not a cherry tree, but I don’t know what kind of tree it is. Anyone know? Perhaps an ornamental pear, or something like that? These fine old trees really are amazing in the northeastern U.S. landscape, with everything so totally gray in the winter and then these bursts of blossoms. Yay, Spring!

Visit Today’s Flowers, Weekend Flowers, Floral Friday, Thursday Challenge (Spring), Scenic Sunday, Outdoor Wednesday, Wordless Wednesday and Pink Saturday (a tiny bit of pink!) to have a fine photo fun time. Spring scene of tree near pond

This spring scene of a tree near a pond was taken on my recent trip to Connecticut. Don’t you just love the pattern of shadows? The reflection of the spring flowers on the water surface isn’t too shabby, either. What a lovely day that was. I am so glad I always have my camera with me! Speaking of which, don’t forget to download the “7 Secrets to Better Flower Photos” at the right. You don’t need more than a pocket camera to take really nice pictures, is how I feel about it.

Blooming white tree

When I was in New York last week, everything was in bloom, at least the early spring flowers and trees. And no wonder, with a solid two weeks of 75 degree F weather (which ended before I got there, sadly). There were a lot of trees with white flowers blooming, and the bark was rough so I knew they weren’t cherry trees. But what they were, I do not know. Any ideas?

Willow tree reflections

My recent trip to the East coast included a few days in scenic Connecticut. Springtime is in full array there, with the trees leafing out, ahead of cool and wet Seattle. I love the reflections of the willow trees and bare branches in the mirror pond and hope you do, too. I’m calling it my my Best Post of the Week.
