Bicycle shadows

Walking the other day in Fremont, WA, which is Seattle’s answer to Berkeley, CA, I saw this cluster of bicycles in the blessed sunshine. Don’t you just love shadow patterns like these?

Joining up this week in Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and of course, Shadow Shot Sunday 2. If this is the only photo showing below, be sure to click on Sara’s Fave Photos above to see them all. Thanks for visiting!

Lake Union, Seattle boats

Just a pretty, scenic shot of the dockside of Lake Union, off Westlake Avenue in Seattle the other day. Our August weather has been gorgeous! Not one drop of rain, sunny almost all day, every day. Yay!

Thia week I’m participating in A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, Ruby Tuesday 2, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday, and Mellow Yellow Monday. Thanks for visiting and please, come back soon.

Fort Ebey, WA

This old fort on Whidbey Island in Washington used to watch for Japanese invasion in World War II. You can still see the bunkers and where the big guns were, just in case. Now it’s used for parasailing and the occasional tourist. Wonderful space that made me happy.

Participating in Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday, and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Thanks for visiting and come back soon.

Centennial celebration

Sunday was Victorian Day, the special 100-year birthday party for one of my top fave places on the planet, the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle. The weather was perfect, and many, many people worked hard to make such a fun and creative event. The period costumes were fabulous! I love the pose of the woman and I’m calling it my Best Post of the Week.

Please check out Pink Saturday, My Romantic Home, Flower Art Friday, Flowers on Saturday, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, Weekend Flowers, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Floral Friday, Scenic Sunday, and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Thanks for visiting and browsing around here first.

Garden Tea

The pretty teapot two posts below needs some context. The scene and day was so lovely, I thought I’d show you the deck and tables all set out. Let’s have a tea party!

Participating at Pink Saturday, Scenic Sunday, Shadow Shot Sunday 2, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Ruby Tuesday 2. Thanks for stopping by.

Teapot with flowers

One of the members of our local Garden Club does teas so very well. Her deck is just heaven on earth on a lovely summer day. Yesterday she put on one of her famous teas for us, and dressed the tables up so prettily with mini-bouquets in tiny teapots. I love this idea and must get some small teapots to do it, too.

More cool photos at Pink Saturday, Mellow Yellow Monday, Macro Monday, Scenic Sunday, Color Carnival, Shadow Shot Sunday 2, Outdoor Wednesday, Weekend Flowers, Floral Friday, and Ruby Tuesday 2. Thanks for visiting here, and come back soon!

Coupeville sailboat races

On our short little getaway last week, a little visit to Coupeville on Whidbey Island, Washington, was just the thing. Victorian houses with pretty gardens, adorable shops, and scenic boats and sky, not to mention perfect temperatures, made for much happiness. Isn’t this sky just great?

Participating in Ruby Tuesday 2, Scenic Sunday, Outdoor Wednesday, Skywatch Friday, A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, and SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera). Thank you so much for taking a peek here.

Cap Sante marina boats

While we were camping at Deception Pass, our friends with a boat invited us to it for a drink. They keep the pretty cabin cruiser docked at the Cap Sante marina in Anacortes, WA, only a few minutes away from where we were. The magic of cellphones! Walking out to their slip, I was just blown away by the beauty of the sun, the water, and the scene. This one, too, is just straight out of the camera. Love those sunny days.

Take a look at Scenic Sunday, Color Carnival, Shadow Shot Sunday 2, Outdoor Wednesday, Skywatch Friday, A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, and SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera) for other neat photos. Thanks so much for stopping by here, and please do leave a comment if you have something you’d like to say.

Birds on pilings

I would have called them pier supports, but I am told they are called pilings. They look more like chromosomes to me, actually! This was taken at Dyes Inlet in Silverdale, Washington, in February. I just wanted to look at some water that was not rain or drizzle. Isn’t it cool that this is a color image?

You might pay a visit to Scenic SundaySOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Shadow Shot Sunday 2, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, and Wordless Wednesday. There’s a lot of talent out there!

Grape-leaf passion flower

This grape-leaf passion flower, or Passiflora vitifolia, is in Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory, seen on a recent visit. It’s also on page 32 of my book, Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory, available on this website, at the Conservatory’s Gift Shop, and also on Amazon, by the way. I think this image might even be better than the one in the book! Oh well, that’s the way it goes. Sometimes the flowers pose so prettily for the camera, don’t they?

Interesting photo memes include Today’s Flowers, Weekend Flowers, Floral Friday, Ruby Tuesday 2, Macro Monday, and SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and it looks like Color Carnival is happening again, too!
