Backyard, one year later
I realized it’s been just a year since we moved in. We dug up lawn and planted bulbs, dug the vegetable beds, and in general dove in to a very neglected situation. Today the sun peeked out and this is what it looks like out there. Not as good as it will look next year, but such an improvement over last year!

Beautiful backyard! I can always appreciate a good landscape photo, as I love to garden myself. Looks like you have a great backyard to enjoy some summer days in (hopefully soon!).

Hey Sara… from my desert burned eyes this looks so appealing. I want to roll around in the grass and bury my head in fragrance of everything I see… This is a beauty and something I know your are relishing as well.
You rock!

It’s a pink dogwood, and I love it, too! Thank you for stopping by.

Wow that’s a very beautiful garden with lovely flowers and plants. I like a garden like that but dont like the weeding and mowing the lawn part….lol. Have a nice weekend.

Oh wow, that looks amazing! I live in the city, so this gives me serious backyard lust! Is it as wide open as it looks in your neighborhood?

It varies. I would say most are not as open, especially since we get the benefit of the 3-acre horse pasture behind us, which is extremely unusual in this suburban area. And I could never do this if my hubby didn’t like to mow and sometimes dig for me. If it was “work” we would never do it.

You have a great eye for colours that look stunning together. Everything looks so lush! You’re correct that a year will make a BIG difference but it’s truly lovely right now.

Your yard is BEAUTIFUL and I know from experience how much effort such a renovation takes.
