Ruby peony bud
Yet another photo from the Bronx Botanical Garden and my recent New York City trip. This was taken in the beginning of May, and the peonies were ALMOST ready to pop. For more ruby redness of all kinds, go to Ruby Tuesday, a fine place in blogland if ever there was one.

Our red peonies are in full bloom and peddles are starting to fall off, and our white peonies are in bud like your picture. Thanks for sharing. Peonies are my favorite flower. Too bad they don’t bloom longer.

I had a peony bud photo on my RT list, but decided against using it. Yours is so much more clear and distinct, I’m glad I left it to you to show ‘how it’s done!” And doesn’t this remind us moms of month 9.5?
