Scallion flower bud
Scallions (green onions) are super easy to grow and have lovely flowers as a bonus, which easily reseed new little scallions. This post is for Thursday Challenge, and the subject this week is “Youth.” And for Think Green Thursday, growing your own food is the greenest thing I know. This photo, like most of the posts on this blog, is straight out of the camera, or SOOC.
Must be away again for a few days; see you on my return.

That is such a cute little plant. I had some container tomatoes this year and of course the weather was cold and dank so they didn’t do well, but I want to have more of a variety next year. Have a safe trip and thank you for posting to Think(ing) Green Thursday… Michelle
Nice photo! I had no idea that scallions had such a neat flower. Happy WW!
Beautifully youthful and so delicate. Lovely photo!
That is lovely 🙂
What a pretty picture! I’ve never seen scallion blossoms up close. I hope you’ll show us another photo when it’s in bloom!
Wow what a gorgeous photo. I had no idea scallions looked like this.
Thanks for your comments. This blosson was taken in July and the blooms are long over. The outer shell wrap goes away and it becomes a bit rounder, but really, doesn’t do too much more as a flower. Like many things (or not!), the youthful aspect is perhaps the most attractive.
It’s a beautiful bud. I don’t think I have ever tried growing htem. I’ll have to do that.
wow i havent seen that one before! so beautiful!
u may view mine if u have time
What a lovely bud, very special!
Congratulation on being guest friend on Today’s Flower! Lovely rose you have there!
Such a beauty!
Mine are local flowers in the Land of the Morning Calm.
I think you’re not here now, but there rose in the TF is beautiful. Congratulations on the photo and for being a guest friend today.
Good week for you
And did you grow that scallion from the cut off bit of another scallion? The colors in this phot are lovely. Very soothing now in the time of rain.
such a gorgeous portrait of the scallions seed head! Clarity in this is very appealing to me, just like all your beautiful photos!
