Mt. Rainier from the overlook
That overlook (elevation approximately 700 feet) near my house is a view of Puget Sound and Vashon Island, but if you look sharply to the left, there is Mt. Rainier in the distance, perhaps about 40 miles as the crow flies. I do prefer the water view, but sometimes the snowcapped peak of our favorite volcano looks pretty fine. This was a gray day yesterday, but I think it’s impressive, in a Seattle sort of way, anyway.
Visit Watery Wednesday for more water (or ice or snow) views. And try Scenic Sunday for more fascinating scenery.
I am trying a new meme today: Outdoor Wednesday. It looks great with some neat photos for you to browse.
Nice photo. You have both a view of the water and this? Lucky!
Happy WW!
Well, not actually AT my house, but easy walking distance. Not bad, is it? Naturally, Mt. Rainier is not visible most of the time, as here in Seattle we tend to have lots of GRAY CLOUDS, but I’m not bitter about that, not one bit.
Lovely view. A very majestic mountain (volcano). A fine photo.
You were at the right place at the right time for that picture. Many a time I’ve been to Seattle the mountain is not visible and one would never know it’s there.
Lucky you that it’s within walking distance! This is an awesome view. Simply breathtaking. 🙂
There was time in another era nearly 50 years ago we could see that majestic scene from our upstairs kitchen window.
Such a glorious scene! I would never tire of this scenic beauty through the seasons!
The glow in the sky sets this photo in a class by itself! Fabulous capture!
I have only seen it in person from an airplane…which was still interesting.
but not as beautiful.
Wow! That scene is walking distance from your house? So coooool! Wish to stay in such a panoramic place.
A snow capped mountain is so refreshing especially when one is in sweltering heat !
“Rainier is out today.” Is what I grew up hearing. It is a glorious mountain…we are certainly blessed to have such beauty in our backyard!
: )

My Wednesday photo is a BROWN PELICAN at the marina [I also have another photo, by link, of the same pelican that is much better…a close up on my photo blog].

Hope your Wednesday is treating you well.
What an unusually clear day for this time of year. Great shot.
love it!
awesome photo!!!
You are truly blessed having a view like this to wake up to each day. How nice that would be. A great showing for Outdoor Wednesday.
I think everyone should enjoy such a beautiful view – at least as often as possible
Great Wordless Wednesday submission!
