View of Astoria, Oregon
There’s a wonderful column, a tower, really, in Astoria, Oregon at the mouth of the Columbia River. You can climb it and the view is just as you expect, magnificent. This was taken at this time of year but a couple of years ago.
Go to Watery Wednesday for more fascinating photos of water, and Outdoor Wednesday for, well, you figure it out. Remember, you can always click on Sara’s Fave Photos above to return to the full blog with my latest post on top.
What a great and amazing world you have captured here!
That’s a fabulous view! Very unique perspective. I’ve never been to this town but always thought it looked like such an interesting place on the map.
I was touring in the northwest with my band in 2007 and we did a show in Astoria – I remember the tower well (we have a cool photo from the base).
So that’s what it looks like. The only time I was in Astoria it was socked in.
this looks like a wonderful hike, such a grand view.
Great view.
Huikaisenan kaunista! Vau!
A breathtaking view!
Thanks for your comments re: photog software. I certainly like the fact that there is a free trial and also I understand there is an “Elements for Dummies.” A book with an index can be a real friend when you’re embarking on a new adventure!
almost like you look it from a lighthouse…and I love lighthouses.
lovely pic.
wonderful shot! Happy WW!

Wow, what a view!
Happy WW!
Sara — I love that tower and you have caught the view perfectly. I never know whether it is more fun to visit (via blog) places that we have been to or places that are new. I think your perfect shot of familiar territory wins today.
Super place, we were there once a long time ago. Great photo!
What a fabulous view! I would like to visit Oregon one of these days. It is on my list of to dos.

Nice! Although I’ve been to the base and the top of the column many times, every day is different and everyone’s photo is different. I enjoyed seeing this!
