Cactus flower
A recent visit to the Volunteer Park Conservatory yielded many, many photos of perfectly blooming flowers and plants. This cactus flower was a few inches across, almost as wide as my hand.

Simply gorgeous! one of my neighbour have almost a similar cactus, but the flower only bloom at night and usually closes by daytime. Too bad I only took photos of it while it’s still a pod-shaped. By the time I went back, it already dried.
Lovely! Seems like there are a lot of blooms for this day’s WW 🙂
That is a truly fantastic piece of work.
Great close up of the flower. I really do like it, and I would have attempted the same shot. Thanks for sharing.
A different kind of cactus flower and this one is also exquisite. Thanks for sharing! Happy RRT!

It never ceases to amaze me how cactus has the most beautiful flowers. Wonderful submissions this week Sara 🙂
what a lovely flower, does it last long?
I don’t know if it lasts a long time but I have heard that they fade very quickly.
