Lilacs and tulips
These lilacs were growing in a neighbor’s front yard on a recent walk. The sky was quite gray and overcast but the magic of a digital camera gave me an exposure that’s almost sunshiny. On the same walk, another neighbor’s Blushing Lady tulips really made me envious. Last year I had some Blushing Lady tulips that were the stars of my spring garden, with huge, almost 6″ blossoms on stems almost a yard (meter) tall. This year they totally failed to come back, where other tulips happily multiplied. But at least my neighbor has had success with them. Aren’t they pretty?

It looks like spring is coming along just fine in Seattle. Those lilacs likely smell like perfume!
They are very pretty, I love lilacs. Mine are in bloom right now but we have a high wind warning for tomorrow so the blooms will probably be gone soon. Those are gorgeous tulips, great shots.
Love the lilacs and the pretty flowers. Beautiful photos!
Glorious soft tones in those lilacs and the various colours in those tulips are stunning!
The tulips are gorgeous, Sara! And I’m so envious that your lilacs are in bloom already!
These photos just take my breath away…and I can almost smell the lilacs from here!!
My macro is one of the best things in life….my grandson’s teeny tiny hand at age 1.

Sara, of all the beautiful tulips you’ve shared with us this spring, I do believe I like this variety the best (so far at least!). They are just so soft and delicate and the colors are just scrumptious!
What incredible colors you have in your neighborhood. Really stunning!
I don’t see many lilacs unless I’m at a botanical gardens. Those tulips are really gorgeous!!
