Snapdragon close up
A short while ago the Pike Place Market still had lots of late summer flowers. Here’s a close up of a pretty pink and yellow snapdragon flower. Didn’t you just love to pinch their little cheeks and see the jaws open when you were a kid?
Try Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday for more close ups and more yellow, respectively. If you click the tag “close up” on this blog you might be surprised at how many flowers (mostly) appear.

Snaps are such a lovely, old fashion flower. They conger up memories of my grandmother with her snaps and petunias and pansies. I’m betting this delicate color combination did not exist in her time. Lucky us to have this delicate yellow and pink to enjoy.

I never knew the snapdragon was a late summer or early fall flower. Perhaps I shall have to add some to the flower beds for more color. Right now our Lantana Miss Huff has gone absolutely bananas with blooms… for the migrating Monarchs.

My snaps in my garden did look pretty good with a second bloom late. Maybe not actually the fall, but definitely later than some in the summer. They are easy and even sometimes winter over if the winter is very mild. Thanks for visiting!
